CFDR's Knowledge Transfer Program at DC's National Conference
Each year CFDR presents a dietetic research event in conjunction with Dietitians of Canada's national conference. We present both oral and poster presentations in two categories: Research and Experience Sharing.
Abstract submissions are invited and reviewed by a special Abstracts Review Committee. All accepted abstracts are posted on CFDR's website (see Research Abstracts) and published in the online version of the Canadian Journal of Dietetic Practice and Research. Dietetic interns are also encouraged to submit abstracts, which are not subject to peer review.

Abstract Submission FAQ
To facilitate your application for involvement in this event we have prepared a list of Frequently Asked Questions, but please contact us if your question is not addressed here.
Am I entitled to the early bird registration rate for the DC conference?
If you are planning to go to the conference to present your abstract you will not hear whether your abstract has been accepted until after the closing date for the early bird registration (April 6, 2010). To encourage your participation in the conference, all presenters of accepted abstracts are eligible for the early-bird conference registration rate.
Why can I only submit one abstract as the first or presenting author?
Often space is a limiting factor for both poster and oral presentations. Submitting only one abstract gives everyone an equal opportunity to have their submissions accepted. There is also the potential for scheduling conflicts and this could minimize the value of your submissions.
What is the difference between an Experience-sharing and a Research abstract?
A research abstract is a report of original research. The body of the abstract should include the objective, brief description of the methodology in sufficient detail to support the conclusions, the implications of the findings and a statement of conclusions. An experience-sharing abstract should focus on new developments in nutrition and dietetics. It must include a statement of purpose, a brief summary of the content or process followed reflect a systematic approach including supporting information, and a statement of recommendations and conclusions.
