Janis Randall Simpson (PhD, RD, FDC, FCNS) has assumed the role of Executive Director (ED) (volunteer, part-time) of CFDR as of 1 October 2024.  She previously held this position from 2017-2021. Prior to becoming ED in 2017, Janis had served on the CFDR Scientific Review Committee as both member and chair for several years. She has held CFDR grants in the past.

Janis is Professor Emerita in the Department of Family Relations and Applied Nutrition at the University of Guelph. She continues with research related to nutrition risk screening in toddlers and preschoolers (NutriSTEP®) and research on the history of dietetics in Canada over the past 30+ years (see article in the CFDR 2024 Annual Report).

Janis is delighted to be back as ED serving the Canadian dietetics research community.
