Our Board

 Fiona completed her BSc in Nutritional Science at the University of Toronto, and then moved to the UK where she completed a MSc in Human Nutrition from the University of Sheffield. She then went on to complete a PhD in Nutrition and Immune Function at the University of Southampton and a MBA from the University of Westminster. She also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Food Law.

Fiona started her career at GlaxoSmithKline’s Nutritional Healthcare R&D division in the UK as an Innovation Research Scientist. There she delivered a wide variety of Nutrition Research and Development projects in conjunction with leading Universities in a variety of Countries.  She has since gone on to hold Senior Level Nutrition Communications and Scientific and Regulatory Affairs roles in leading companies such as Nestle and Bayer.

She now runs the independent consulting company, Nutrition Opportunities Worldwide which works on nutrition projects for NGOs where business/operations and nutritional science experience can add value and help to deliver SDG2. Past clients include CARE Malawi, SUN, Helen Keller International, GAIN, and UNICEF. She is also a co-founder of Tinga, an innovative healthy eating/shopping App.

Fiona is currently a member of the ASN’s Global Nutrition Council, supporting their communications and helping with scientific programming for workshops and conferences. She is also a founding member and past president of the University of Toronto’s Department of Nutritional Sciences Alumni Association where she has established a successful student mentorship program which has been running for more than ten years. She is based in Toronto
